On January 31, Tyler Trovarello of Sault Ste. Marie, ON won a $79,030 jackpot in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) January 50/50 draw. Tyler’s lucky number (J-15124672) was drawn electronically, and he was called immediately.
After leaving two voicemails, Tyler finally called back to learn the good news! “I’ve been playing since the 50/50 started! It feels great to support our hospital and it’s a bonus that a lucky family can have the chance to win each month as well. It’s quite the gift,” said Tyler. When asked if he had any plans for the winnings, he mentioned the timing couldn’t have been better: Tyler and his partner have just moved into a new home that needs a few renovations, welcomed the arrival of their first baby at Sault Area Hospital just this past month, and celebrated his birthday!
Tyler wasn’t the only winner this month – January’s Early Bird, Amanda Soloman of Garden River, ON, was the lucky winner of $10,000 on January 16, 2025 with ticket J-26708281.

In addition to online sales at www.soolottery.ca, tickets can be purchased in person at the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Office (750 Great Northern Road) from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Ticket buyers must be 18 years of age or older and in the province of Ontario to play.
