On March 1st at 9:30 am, Lisa McCormick of Batchewana First Nation, ON won a $224,032 jackpot with ticket # AFF-1332408 in the January/February SAHF 50/50!
“I support all the local draws. It feels good to give back to charities that help my family and friends,” said Lisa. “I’m just shocked. I’m not sure what exactly we are going to do with this much money, but I know we want to take our family on a vacation. We all need that right now.”
This month’s draw included a bonus prize – a choice of a $30,000 gift certificate to Northshore Sports and Auto or an additional $20,000 cash. Lisa chose the gift certificate, and indicated she plans to purchase a side-by-side with it.
This was the 27th SAHF 50/50 draw, and included some significant changes. “Our goal is to keep evolving our lotteries. We had so much fun with this month’s draw, and we have to thank everyone for their positive feedback and excitement,” said Teresa Martone, Executive Director, Sault Area Hospital Foundation. “The new bonus prize brought a lot of extra fun to the grand prize draw, and over the next 31 days we will be announcing 93 more winners from our Win Your Way Calendar Draw. At the end of the day, every ticket our community purchases is helping buy essential medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital, and that’s truly exciting.”
In addition to the Grand Prize winner, the Electrical Group at Arauco of Sault Ste. Marie, ON were the winners of a $10,000 Early Bird Prize.
