On December 4th at 11am, Erica Seyler of Sault Ste. Marie, ON won $50,000 in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation’s (SAHF) inaugural electronic and online 50/50 draw. One of her numbers, A-6898206, was drawn electronically. SAHF have confirmed her purchase and validated the winning ticket.
“It’s been a very emotional week” says Erica, “I bought my ticket at the beginning of November. When I first got the call, I had thought I lost my tickets so having them safe in my email was very convenient.” Erica made her ticket purchase online, where over 55% of purchases came through. “When I confirmed I had won, we just sat down and dreamed about what this money means for our family, this Christmas and into the future.” Erica and her husband have been taking their time and thoughtfully deciding the best way to use this prize money. “I bought the ticket just wanting to support my hospital. I never thought I would win. We recently had a great experience with our family and it just made me feel good knowing I could buy a couple tickets and help make the next family’s experience just as great.” Erica recalled. “We are going to make a donation back and continue to support our hospital.”
The next SAHF 50/50 draw is live now! The draw will take place on December 30th at 11am, making these tickets perfect Christmas gifts! Tickets will again be available for purchase until December 29th at 9PM. Tickets can be purchased at local selling locations (the SAH Main Lobby and Foundation office) as well as online at www.soo5050.ca. Visit this page for updated selling locations and watch the pot grow from the guaranteed $9,999 minimum prize.
Proceeds from this and all SAHF run draws support the purchase of medical equipment essential to delivering services here in Sault Ste. Marie. “Lottery and gaming is just one of the many ways our Foundation raises funds. It’s exciting to offer these great prizes to winners. In the end, the funds raised from this draw and every fundraiser we host, positively effects the lives of the families that use our local hospital, today and into the future.” says Teresa Martone, Executive Director, Sault Area Hospital Foundation. Each piece of equipment purchased is necessary to keep patients close to home.
We would like to thank the community for their continued support and for making this exciting new draw possible. Visit www.soo5050.ca to keep up to date with these draws and for more details on other draws and fundraising activities visit www.sahfoundation.com.
