14th Annual Ski the Trails welcomes winter enthusiasts!

Are you ready for a snow-filled challenge? Ski the Trails is back and this year presented by EllisDon Facilities Services (SAH) Inc. Join us, Sunday, March 2nd for the 14th annual event, held at Hiawatha Highlands.

The concept is simple: hit the trails to ski, snowshoe or ride your fat bike in support of Sault Area Hospital Foundation. To join the fun, collect a minimum of $50 in pledges and you’ll be registered with a complimentary day pass for the trails and brunch to follow. Participants of all ages and levels can register and donate online by visiting www.sahfoundation.com/ski2025

The trails open at 8am for skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. After a morning outdoors, participants head to the Water Tower Inn for a brunch sponsored by Fengate Asset Management. Starting at noon, there will be a delicious spread of pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit – topped with real maple syrup! Then, relax those muscles at the Club Cabana indoor pool and sauna before heading home.

New this year: Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers with additional prizes drawn at the Water Tower Inn brunch, following the morning of outdoor adventure at Hiawatha. As always, the first 50 fundraisers who collect $150 in pledges will be eligible to receive our 2025 Ski the Trails Sauce ski hat!

“Over the years Ski the Trails has taken on a life of its own, having been started by two physicians 14 years ago, and raising over $175,000 for critical medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital,” said Teresa Martone, Executive Director of Sault Area Hospital Foundation, “Year after year, this longstanding event has not only been a bright spot to look forward to in the midst of winter: it has helped provide our care teams with the tools they need to deliver outstanding care at Sault Area Hospital. We couldn’t do it without our loyal participants and new joiners that come out each year in support of local healthcare.”

Thank you to our generous sponsors EllisDon Facilities Services (SAH) Inc., Fengate Asset Management, The Water Tower Inn, Algoma Bicycle Company, Family Dentistry on Bay, Floreani, O’Toole and Dool Orthodontists, Peace Restaurant, The Tap Room, Up & Down Lounge and The Greenhouse Spa. This event would not be possible without the partnership of the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club and Hiawatha Highlands.
