The Sault Area Hospital Foundation was visited by seven young clothing designers in early July. These young women had just completed a successful fashion show, showing off all the clothes they had designed and sewn themselves. Ranging from ages 6 – 14, these young ladies raised a significant $700 to donate toward the charity of their choice. They collectively decided on the Maternal Child Program at the Sault Area Hospital.
The young group of girls is part of Lisa Villebrun’s Buzy Sewing Bee program. She has been teaching the art of designing and sewing clothes for 23 years. Classes run from September to June. Students learn how to sew and design, and make multiple outfits throughout the year.
The Sault Area Hospital Foundation would like to extend a thank you to the designers and their teacher. Their donation will go a long way to help the youngest of patients in our community.
