Everyday Hero Employee Campaign Kicks Off!
October 6th marked the launch of the 2014-2015 Sault Area Hospital Foundation's 'Everyday Hero' Employee Campaign! This year we are proud to be sponsored in part by RBC!
The campaign asks the staff of the Sault Area Hospital to make deductions to their payroll in order to purchase priority medical equipment used to treat patients of our community.
The campaign centers around the idea that is every employ gave up a cup of coffee a pay period ($2.00) and donated it to the Foundation, we could raise over $95,000 annually for healthcare in our community.
All gifts to the Fund For Better Care (gifts not allocated to any other specific fund, ex. Cancer Care, Renal Dialysis Care, etc.) will go towards the purchase of cardiac 'bricks'. 14 of 30 of these mobile cardiac monitors are being replaced this year. These portable monitors help keep track of the patient's vital signs while not sacrificing their mobility and freedom. These devices can dock with a full size monitor for full monitoring and then disconnect for full mobility with recording and tracking of vitals. Each 'brick' cost roughly $8000 and are used hospital-wide.
Last year this campaign raised over $38,000 through six weeks, towards equipment here at our Hospital and we hope to raise even more this year. A big thanks to all the RBC representatives that helped us kick off the campaign.
